The concept of a “secret menu” isn’t new. I still remember being a middle schooler, learning about coffee for the first time and never wanting to order what was standard. I probably annoyed a few baristas with my overly complicated drink orders — but hey, I was 14 and just trying to find out what i liked.

Now, after spending time in the coffee industry, I’ve realized something: just like clothes, hairstyles, car decals, or even our phone cases — our coffee order says a lot about who we are. Coffee is personal. It’s a taste of self-expression in a to-go cup.

What Your Coffee Order Says About You

Are you a Vanilla Latte kind of person? You probably like to keep it classic. a little sweet, dependable, and loved by everyone.

Maybe you go for our Goldielocks Latte: espresso with caramel and white mocha? the sweetheart of your friend group, You bring the cozy vibes and love a good social setting. Definitely anything but ordinary.

Or maybe you order a Maryville Rebel: peanut butter and dark chocolate? Then you’re someone who fights for the people you love and stays true to yourself. Sweet and strong.

We could go on and on, because no two customers are the same. And that’s the Secret: coffee Orders are as multifaceted as the people who drink it.

So… What’s the Deal with a Secret Menu?

With so many drinks on the board, why would we also have a secret menu?

The answer is simple: because of you.

Over the years, our regulars and creative baristas have come up with incredible custom combinations that are just too good to keep quiet. Like our friend Jason — who always orders The Jason (a latte with dark chocolate and Irish cream). Or our seasonal hit The Goat, created for our Goat Yoga pop-up with barista Lucas Bales.

These drinks started as personal creations, but they’ve become part of Bear Grounds community.
